Apple will restore TikTok to the US App Store on Watch Vanguard OnlineThursday, following a letter from US Attorney General Pam Bondi, Bloomberg reported today. The decision comes after the US Supreme Court upheld a ban on the app, leading to its removal from the App Store on Jan. 19. However, just 14 hours later, TikTok resumed operations in the US, with service gradually restored on Jan. 20. Sources close to ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, confirmed that no agreement was reached with the US government. Instead, the authorities decided not to enforce the “sale or ban” policy, allowing TikTok to return. Following similar legal assurances, Google has also now reinstated TikTok to its Google Play app store. [Bloomberg]
