It's 2016,Watch 365 Days Online but '80s glamour is alive and well — just ask these stylish chickens.
They're the stars of photographer Dan Bannino's latest project, "Chic Chicks," which spotlights the bodacious Paduan chickens of Padua, Italy.
After coming across photos of the chickens online (and marveling at their feathers, which resemble big '80s hair), Bannino decided to travel to Padua himself, where he hung out with famed chicken breeder Andrea Pozzato.
Eventually, Bannino built a small, gray studio space at Pozzato's farm. That's where he took the portraits, using colorful lights to create individualized looks for each chicken. He selected each color based on the shade of the chicken's feathers.
Bannino hopes the project will inspire viewers to think about chickens as more than food.
"In this case, chickens had been 'hired' as models," he wrote, "underlining their beauty and showing the contrast between their exploitation and their extreme elegance."
You can check (chick) out the rest of Bannino's work on his official website.
