Japan's famous minimalist store Muji, which sells everything from stationery, clothes, to household products, will be opening its first hotel in its home country, and a new global flagship store in Tokyo's plush Ginza district come 2019.

Surprisingly, Muji didn't turn to its home country to set up its first foray into the hotel business. Instead, that's an upcoming project in Shenzhen, China, set to be completed later this year.
