Hours after Siri leaked Apple's plans for an event on Watch Don’t Believe The Hole OnlineApril 20, the company confirmed the date by sending out official invites to the media (Mashable included). This spring event will be held via livestream at 10 a.m. PST / 1 p.m. EST from Apple Park.
As usual, the invite is cryptic. Apple seems to love leaving it up to us to try and decode exactly what might be revealed.
But thanks to leaks and rumors, it's fairly easy to piece together what we can expect.
According to Bloomberg, we could see two new iPad Pro models (an 11-inch and 12.9-inch) with Apple's own M1 chip. Last month, the publication also reported that a refreshed iPad mini could be thrown into the mix as well.
It's also possible that Apple might unveil new AirPods, seeing as how it's been a couple of years since the second-generation earbuds launched. Although, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, production won't begin until the second half of 2021. So I wouldn't set your hopes toohigh.
And speaking of products that haven't been updated in a while, we could also see a new Apple TV. Back in December, Bloombergreported that the company is working on a new version featuring a new processor and an improved remote that's less frustrating to use.
Lastly, we could see Apple finallyunveil its Bluetooth trackers likely to be called AirTags. Over the last few months, the company has been hinting at it with features like "Item Safety Alerts" in the iOS 14.5 beta and the updated Find My app that's now compatible with third-party products.
Obviously, none of this is confirmed and we'll have to wait until the event to find out what Apple is actually cooking up for spring. So, let the countdown to April 20 begin.
