Planning a wedding is aunty sex videoscomplicated enough, but now imagine trying to do it in VR.
That’s just what one couple from Wales decided to do recently. As TIMEreported, Elisa Evans and Martin Shervington tied the virtual knot on May 25th. The wedding took place in AltspaceVR, a virtual reality social platform, which partnered with the couple to facilitate their big day.
Inside the VR world, the couple’s blue and pink avatars were joined by those of 40 of their closest friends. Those pals were actually gathered in the groom’s home, but the real action was inside Altspace, where the charming, if slightly stilted, ceremony unfolded.
Their union was officiated by a community manager from the company. So their marriage is the real legal deal IRL. They were showered in a sea of happy emoji as they said their vows, but the kiss at the end did prove a bit tricky -- that’s the downside of those bulky VR headsets.

They each had to fork over $2,531 for the computer and headset. And the VR element didn’t totally do away with the IRL celebration. After the ceremony, the couple and their guests went to a bar across the street.
And, yes, they served actual food and a very real cake, which even had an adorable cake topper shaped like the couples VR avatars.
