During the presidential campaign008 Archives Donald Trump opposed the idea of Harriet Tubman replacing Andrew Jackson's portrait on the $20, calling the swap "pure political correctness."
Now, perhaps still reeling from the visions of millions of women in the streets the day after his inauguration, the president might be getting his way.

And of course, this isn't ironclad confirmation that Tubman won't be put on the $20 bill, but Mnuchin said in the CNBC interview that "People have been on the bills for a long period of time."
Interpret that how you will. (It might also be possible for a subsequent administration to reverse the reversal.)
Obama's Treasury secretary, Jack Lew, formally proposed replacing Jackson with Tubman in April of 2016. The announcement came after pressure from the viral campaign Women on 20s, which advocated for an early redesign of the $20, not currently slated until possibly 2030. Instead, the women were told to wait.
Nevertheless, they persisted in pushing for women on the $10, but a backlash to the removal of Hamilton from that note (this was near the height of the musical's popularity), lead to the suggestion that perhaps women could, you know, share the $10 bill by leaving Alexander Hamilton on one side and putting a collection of notable women on the other.
So, wait your turn, and/or accept less, sounds familiar. In fact, so familiar that Jon Oliver had a field day with it.
Now it seems that even the measly hope of hallowed Underground Railroad conductor Harriet Tubman replacing a man who was responsible for the Trail of Tears and didn't believe in paper moneywill be another dream deferred. Trump has said that Jackson "has a great history" and that it's "very rough when you take somebody off the bill."
There's no word as yet on whether the women who were to be featured on the backside of the $10 bill will also be booted.
