"I had planned it for around eight to nine months," Tampin told Mashable. "It wasn't difficult as I had all the help I needed from the employees at Odeon Cinemas, who were amazing."
He recorded a message dedicated to Shaw and played it before the trailers were shown.
He began the message with an apology to the fellow movie-goers in the theatre: "Before I start I want to apologize to everyone else in the room. I just thought I would pass a message on to my partner."
He went on: "Danielle we have been together for three years now, it’s absolutely flew over. I never thought in a million years we would be here today. I have got a little message to pass on. It’s in Welsh but I have got another alternative because I know you don’t speak it."
"She was embarrassed at first seeing my face on the big screen because I didn't think she knew what was happening," Tampin said. "But after, she was laughing and crying. But all happy tears."
The 27 year old ended the message with a card he held in the air with the words "Will you marry me?" in Welsh, Danielle's native language.
After the first card, Tampin held up a baby's onesie, as Shaw is currently 7 months pregnant, with the phrase: "Mummy, will you marry Daddy?" written on the front.
"She said yes and the audience, to be fair, was amazing," said Tampin. "They were clapping and cheering!"
Tampin said once the baby has arrived happy and healthy, the couple will be moving into a new home and begin to plan the wedding.
Mashable asked the husband-to-be if the theme of the wedding would be based on the Thor franchise.
"I think people will be expecting something special for the wedding," said Tampin. "But I'm not so sure, we may keep it simple, but then again, expect the unexpected."
