HTC988 Archivesabout to launch a new flagship smartphone, the company announced in a (typically) cryptic tweet Thursday.

The name of the device wasn't mentioned but we reckon it's going to be the HTC U12+, and according to earlier rumors, it's going to be pretty powerful.

In the tweet, HTC claims the phone is going to be "a phone that is more than the sum of its specs." The tweet was actually surprisingly revelatory, as it includes an image of (presumably) the phone's innards.

Though chip and battery markings have been edited, we can gather some details about the phone in that photo -- for example, we see four little cameras there as well as a microSD card slot.

In March, Evan Blass leaked the specs for the device, claiming it'll have a dual, 8-megapixel selfie camera as well as a dual 16/12-megapixel camera on the back. Other specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage and a 3,420mAh battery.

Now that we have a launch date and (probably) most of the specs, the only thing to do is to wait for the official launch and see whether HTC has some surprises up its sleeve.
