So,Stocking Girl’s Wet Pink Petals Google made a phone. In fact, it made two new flagship products: The Pixel and Pixel XL.
The heavily teased smartphones were unveiled at an event in San Francisco Tuesday, but how much will these iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus rivals set you back in Australia?
SEE ALSO: Google becoming a hardware manufacturer isn't a threat — yetThe 32GB 5-inch Google Pixel will start at A$1,079 and A$1,229 for 128GB of storage. The Google Pixel XL, which has a 5.5-inch display, will start at A$1269 with 32GB of storage and A$1,419 for 128GB.
The smartphones will come in "Quite Black" and "Very Silver" -- a 'lil knock at Apple's habit of making up fancy colour names for new products. They'll also run Google's most recent operating system, Android Nougat (version 7.1).
For the full specs, check out Mashable's rundown here.
The Google phones will be available in-store exclusively with Telstra or in partner JB Hi-Fi stores, as well as online from Google's online shop. You can pre-order now for an official release date of October 20.
Google's new VR headset, the Daydream View, will set Australians back A$119 and will be available from the same outlets. Aussies can join the waitlist now to be notified when it goes on-sale around November.
It will arrive first in the jersey-style colour Slate, followed by Snow and Crimson.
Google's answer to the Amazon Echo, its voice assistant hub Google Home, doesn't seem to be available in Australia.
For now, Aussies will have to make do saying "OK, Google" to their phone.
