It's been nearly five years since the finale of The homo eroticism in literatureOffice aired on NBC, but fans still aren't ready to let go of the beloved comedy just yet. Especiallynot Angela Kinsey.
On The Office, Kinsey played Angela Martin — Dunder Mifflin's cat-loving, party-planning, fun-sucking employee who kept the accounting corner in constant fear. She's starred in several other shows like New Girl andHaters Back Off! since The Office ended in 2013, but perhaps her greatest on-screen venture has been her YouTube show, Baking With Josh & Ange.
SEE ALSO: There's a Michael Scott quote to sum up every college majorAngela and her husband Josh Snyder, an actor and self-taught baker, started a YouTube channel after a request from Haters Back Off! co-star and YouTube queen, Colleen Ballinger (aka Miranda Sings).
"Josh had come to visit me on set and made cookies," Angela told us during a phone interview. "We were hanging out and Colleen was like, 'first of all, you guys are so cute,' and then said, 'I love baking channels you should do this, you should make a baking channel.'"
The couple — who consider themselves "dinosaurs" when it comes to modern-day tech — was initially hesitant, but since its launch in Dec. 2016, Baking with Josh & Ange has become one of the most wholesome and charming channels on YouTube. It delivers great laughs, teaches you how to make simple baked goods, and is weirdly the perfect show to watch while praying the The Office will be revived. (Don't worry, Angela's praying too.)
Angela’s role on The Officemay be what first drew me to the YouTube channel, but the the couple’s chemistry in the kitchen and the show’s ability to be just the right amount of ~extra~ is what really hooked me.
Josh, who started out baking birthday cakes for his children and treats for the PTA, isn’t a master chef, but he knows his stuff. He’s not trying to teach viewers anything crazy, but the desserts look delicious, and the videos are usually shorter than 10 minutes. That's all anyone should really want from a cooking show, right?
Via Giphy"What is our baking philosophy? Anyone can bake,” Angela said. "Anyone can bake and I think what we really try to do with our videos is to lay it out for people," Josh added. "With our videos we just want people to know baking can actually be pretty easy and that they can make something wonderful."
While Josh is doing his thing, Angela is learning along with the viewers, asking every question an inexperienced baker at home would want. Seeing an actress be so unapologetically herself -- dancing, singing, and excitedly exclaiming things like, "YAY, BUTTER," in the comfort of her own home like a normal, nerdy human is insanely refreshing. TBH it makes me low-key wish all celebrities had YouTube cooking shows.
Sure, Josh and Angela have one microphone that's taped to a blanket and they occasionallypush the wrong button on the camera, but that's what makes the show so entertaining. What they lack in experience, they make up for in charm (and Officereferences.)
The sweetest part about Baking With Josh & Angeisn't the desserts — it's the fact that the show serves as extremely delayed after-show for The Office fans. It gives an inside, unfiltered look at the legendary comedy from the perspective of the actors, an experience that's extremely rare.
"I feel like The Office is still very much part of my life and always will be. It's clear that I miss it," Angela said, explaining she, like her former co-star John Krasinski, would bring the show back in a heartbeat.
"I feel like The Office is still very much part of my life and always will be."
"I'll always be rooting for that show and I would always want to be a part of any kind of wrap up or revival," she said. "I love the show, I love the characters, and I’m curious about where they are. I’m like a fan, I want to know."
Though Angela often carries out her role as co-host by sharing behind-the-scenes stories, discussing memories of her favorite episodes, and cracking "that's what she said" jokes at each opportune moment, every so often the couple will invite guest stars on the show to help them bake.
Creed Bratton, who just so happens to live right down the street from Angela, dropped in to learn about making royal icing. And though he basically contributed NOTHING aside from eating snacks, it was nice to see the old pals alongside each other again.
Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight K. Schrute, Angela's TV husband, visited to help concoct some vegan avocado brownies and dish on the good old days when he and Angela were having secret rendezvous in the Dunder Mifflin warehouse. Sadly, Rainn missed the episode where Josh and Ange made "Dwangela Little Drummer Boy" cookies, but he didwind up chatting about filming the "Benihana Christmas" episode.
And of course, Angela's IRL BFF, Jenna Fischer, appeared during the holiday season to make some mini Christmas cookies and fill the Pam and Jim void in our lives.
Though Angela no longer works with The Officecast every day, she assured us they, along with the show, are still a huge part of her life.
Jenna Fischer remains one of her "life anchors" and they talk all the time. (Their kids even attend the same school now, which B.J. Novak occasionally visits to read his book aloud. NBD.) She casually sees Creed on her morning walk because of the whole neighbor thing, and tries to meet up with Brian Baumgartner and Oscar Nunez for regular "accounting dinners." She texted John Krasinski to let him know he did an amazing job during his Ellen interview, and even confessed Rainn will text her, "Hey monkey," every now and then to let her know he's missing her. 😍

"I really do think Angela and Dwight found their happiness," she said, imagining what a revival would have in store for the characters. "They’re still together and bossing some people around."
Hopefully we'll get to see if that's true one day, but for now, we have Baking with Josh & Ange.
So, next time you're looking for a dessert recipe, turn off the Food Network and embarking on a far more casual learning experience with two actors who just so happen to always be talking about your favorite show. It's a blast.
