Nobody says "no" to The Animation ArchivesBoss... unless it's Harry Potter.
Music legend Bruce Springsteen took to Simon Mayo's BBC Radio 2 show on Thursday and confirmed the rumor that he wrote a song for the Harry Potterfranchise that was rejected by its producers. He didn't specify which installment it was originally intended to accompany.
Springsteen's song was called "I'll Stand By You Always," and the singer himself called it "pretty good." But apparently it wasn't good enough for the wizarding world in the mind of the Harry Potterpowers that be.
Springsteen revealed that he wrote the "lovely" song for his eldest son, describing it as "a big ballad that was very uncharacteristic of something I’d sing myself."
The Boss hasn't given up hope that another children's film will find it a strong fit. There's no shortage of those films on the horizon, so perhaps some wise studio will throw Springsteen a bone.
We're looking at you, Toy Story 4! After all, Springsteen won an Oscar for contributing a song to another Tom Hanks film, Philadelphia.
